Writer's picture: Sunshine SEO StudioSunshine SEO Studio

The magical allure of a winter wedding never goes out of style - cosy candlelight, filmstar-esque flash photography, seasonal colour palettes, and that feeling of warmth and togetherness that is so heightened at this time of year.

I had a winter wedding myself, so I’m totally on board with your decision to have one too. I also had not one but two embroidered winter wedding veils! If you’re looking for the perfect accessory for your own fabulously frosty celebration, I’ve got you with these 10 chic embroidered winter veil styles.

Winter Wedding Veils: Styling Considerations

Before I launched Rebecca Anne Designs and started crafting bespoke embroidered veils, I was a bridal stylist in a boutique for many years - and before that, I was a Fashion Design student. This means that not only can I draw, design and deliver your perfect tailor-made accessory, I am also well qualified to help guide you with your bridal styling.

When choosing your winter wedding veil design, consider your venue and your outfit as a whole before settling on the style. It goes without saying that winter weddings can be considerably cooler than summer ones, so take this into account when choosing your outfit. A wedding dress with long (or detachable) sleeves vs one with no straps offers a very different look, and this consequently influences the design of your veil.

Ensuring your veil style works perfectly with your dress is part of the Rebecca Anne Designs process, so if it’s all feeling a bit overwhelming and you don’t know what looks good - don’t worry. I can help guide you in the right direction using my years of experience, to help you feel like the most glowing, gorgeous version of yourself on your wedding day.

Winter Wedding Veil Styles - Embroidery Options at Rebecca Anne Designs

Pearl - Old Hollywood Elegance

There’s nothing a Pearl veil likes more than being captured with film or flash - when you’re wearing this style, you’re a total star and utterly deserving of your moment in the spotlight.

I always think of Audrey Heburn, classic elegance and black and white films when I make a Pearl veil, and all these things go so beautifully with a winter wedding. My own wedding had a chic monochrome colour palette, and one of my veils was a pearl studded drama queen reminiscent of snowdrops or a morning frost.

Stardust - Limited Edition Sparkle

Shimmering with crystals interwoven into soft tulle, Stardust is royalty among winter wedding veils. She’s twinkly, she catches the light like no other, and did I mention she’s Limited Edition?

If you place an order for a Stardust veil for your winter 2024 or 2025 wedding, you’ll be among an exclusive list of brides to wear this design as she won’t be around forever. Surround yourself with glittering snowfall in Stardust for the perfect winter wedding accessory.

Celestial - On A Starry Night

There’s nothing more romantic than stargazing with your love on a crisp winter’s night, and now you can capture that feeling and stitch it into the fabric of your winter wedding veil with my Celestial designs.

The beauty of this style is that it can be customised in so many ways - you can glide down the aisle in an entire galaxy, your favourite constellations, or miniature solo stars, moons, supernovas…even planets, if that feels meaningful to you. Make the heavens a heartfelt part of your wedding day with this winter wedding veil style, an infinite and ever-expanding favourite at Rebecca Anne Designs.

Florals - Not Just For Summer

Winter wedding veils can have florals too - showing a black and white image of a woman wearing a floral embroidered veil

Your love blooms all year round, so why shouldn’t your embroidered wedding accessory? There are plenty of beautiful flowers that thrive during the winter months, perfect for creating a frosty fiesta of florals to wear on your winter wedding veil.

Classic winter flora such as dainty snowdrops, holly and winterberries add festive flair to your embroidery design without being overtly Christmassy. You can also opt for different varieties that spring up during the cooler months, such as pretty pansies and violas, hellebores and winter jasmine.

Of course, the beauty of embroidery is that it doesn’t need to be planted or nurtured, meaning you don’t have to stick to seasonal stems at all if you don’t want to! Peonies in December? It’s a yes from me.

The Black Edit - Married in Monochrome

Black and white is a fashion pairing that will never stop being chic, and it’s a colour combination that is perennially preferred at winter weddings. The Black Edit offers everything from raven ruffles to pitch poetry script, and almost anything else you can dream up for your bespoke design.

Winter weddings are the perfect opportunity for a little decadence and drama, and The Black Edit might just be the bold new dimension you’re looking for in your winter wedding veil.

Organza - Elevated and Dynamic

For delicate ‘wow’ factor, look no further than the Organza veil design. It’s a modern take on the use of a traditional fabric, and allows us to create totally unique and bespoke winter wedding veils unlike anything you’ve ever owned before.

I used organza in my own 3.5 metre long wedding veil, for the hand drawn oversized single-line roses edged with script. The use of the Organza on top of the flowing tulle almost gives the impression of soft snow settling in decorative puddles on your veil - in other words, wintry to perfection.

Poetry - The Epitome of Unique

Poetry veils are the product of a one-of-a-kind collaboration between myself and award-winning poet Jen Feroze, taking artfully crafted words that tell your unique love story and indelibly stitching them onto your wedding veil in black or ivory embroidery. The immortalisation of emotion is at the heart of Rebecca Anne Designs, and it really doesn’t get any more bespoke than this. Find out more about the process at the link below, and consider a winter wedding veil that could only ever be yours.

Choose to have your whole poem embroidered in flowing script down the length of your veil, or select lines or phrases you want to share with your loved ones on your big day.

Velvet Bow - Winter Decadence

Velvet is an inherently wintry fabric, representing both cosy softness and sumptuous glamour. If you’re looking for a winter wedding veil alternative or a second-look accessory, my velvet ribbons can be worn in your hair or as bouquet ties. Available in black or limited edition ‘Peach Fuzz’, choose from black or ivory embroidery and opt for the script or hand-drawn design of your dreams.

Bridal Cape - Bridal, But Make It Fashion

Dare to be different with the Rebecca Anne Designs draped cape, the perfect winter wedding veil that isn’t quite a veil. Contemporary, unique and personalised to perfection, it’s the accessory you didn’t know you needed until now. Every great icon in winter storytelling has a cape, from Frozen’s Elsa to The White Witch of Narnia, and now you can step into your role as the main character at your wedding too.
